Key research topics:
^{* 15}N, nitrogen transformations in soil, Cu and Zn pollution;

* Nitrogen plant nutrition;

* Nitrates leaching in ground water (lysimeter study);

* Pig slurry and environment;

* Isotopically exchangeable Zn in soil (⁶⁵Zn), spatial variability of macronutrients and heavy metals in soil, use of GPS technique in soil investigations;

* Phosphorus pollution of surface waters-eutrophication.

Fellowships:
1995 - IAEA 8 months fellowship in the field of ¹⁵N use in soil chemistry (Nuclear Research Center Cadarache, France with Prof. G. Guiraud);

1997 - 3 months work in Cemagref, Rennes, France (with Dr. Jose Martinez) on the influence of Zn and Cu pollution with pig slurry on the nitrogen cycle in soil (¹⁵N study);

1998-1999 6 months work in the Group of Plant Nutrition, Institute of Plant Science, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (with Prof. E. Frossard) on spatial variability of isotopically exchangeable Zn in canton of Fribourg;

2001 - IAEA Regional Training course on the application of neutron probe and 15N under fertigation - Ankara, Turkey. 2003 and 2004 – JRC, Ispra, Italy - Soil Survey Training course
